Vinnies Winter Appeal
This winter let's help people break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness by donating to the Vinnies Winter Appeal.
We are currently seeking donations of non-perishable food items, clothes, blankets and warm coats or jackets. Your donations of any of these items will make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people who are doing it tough.
Australia is facing a homelessness crisis
This winter, Vinnies volunteer members across Australia are seeing an unprecedented demand for homelessness services and support.
Your generous support can help vulnerable people in our communities at risk of or experiencing homelessness with the urgent help they need to break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness.
You can help give them food, so they are not going hungry and clothes, so they are not cold. Funds raised will provide a helping hand with essential bills or the rent could be all that’s standing between people and homelessness.
You can help them find safety and support. Together we can support Vinnies in their work to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Click here to view a list of items that you can donate, and you can see how it will be distributed to those in need.

Prayer for our Sacramental Candidates
God of all ages,
You send out your Spirit to touch the hearts of all people, Look kindly on our candidates for Confirmation as they seek to hear your voice. As they embark on this retreat weekend, we pray that you send your Spirit to enlighten, guide, strengthen, console, and open their hearts as they continue to seek a closer relationship with you. Help them to truly know the deep and abiding love you have for each of them and fill them with the joy of your presence.
As our community prepares these children for Confirmation, make us an instrument of your love,
Teach us to reverence what is holy in others and to be patience with what we do not understand.
Deepen our faith and help us to pass it on by our example. We pray that you continue to guide and sustain us, and teach us the Way of Love.
We praise you through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Prayer from St. Rose of Lima Church, Northborough, MA

Celebrating our Centenary - Then and Now
We would love to celebrate all of the parents in our community who are also St Therese Old Scholars. If you are an old scholar and your children are currently at our school, please forward a photo to us of you at our school as a student (Then) and then another photo of you with you and your children in their school uniform (Now). Then and Now photos will be displayed together at school for a centenary.
Your photos are precious, so we will take copies of them and return them to you promptly if you bring them to the school office. Or you can send them to us by email to info@sts.catholic.edu.au

Lacrosse Carnival - On Tuesday 20 May, St Therese participated in the annual SACPSSA Lacrosse Carnival, held at Barratt Reserve, West Beach. The rain held off for us and the sun shone in bouts throughout the day. 80 eager students competed in this carnival creating 11 teams. Congratulations to all students who represented our school with pride and displayed excellent sportsmanship. Thank you for the endless support from staff that attended and also to our wonderful volunteers - Briana, Nikki, Belle, Samantha, Bettina, Tonya, Bec, Lauren and Darren.
Netball Carnival - We are looking forward to our next carnival, Netball, which will be held on Tuesday 1 July. This carnival is for boys and girls in Years 3-6. If your child has nominated to play, you will receive an alert on SZapp. Please watch for that notification and complete it as soon as possible. Please also consider coaching a team. This is a very popular carnival with our students and we can do with as much support to cover our teams as possible.
Basketball Carnival - Next Thursday 12 June, some of our Year 6’s will represent our school at Basketball SA, Wayville. This is another exciting carnival that we are all looking forward to.
Winter Sport - The St Therese Winter Sport program is well and truly up and running. I am hearing some wonderful reports from coaches and players. Whether you are a player, coach or spectator always remember that you are representing our school out of school hours and must follow the school’s Code of Conduct. At training and game days we also ask that parents or guardians are present.
Sports College SA clinics - We have been privileged to be working again with the students from Sports College SA this year. Our Rec-Year 2 students have and will engage in fun, developmental netball and cricket sessions whilst our Years 3-6’s have and will participate in AFL and Basketball. What a special partnership this is with Sports College SA.
Special Congratulations to - Asher in Year 6 on her City South District Girls Netball selection. All the best to you Asher. We look forward to hearing all about it.
SPORTS DAY - The school is buzzing with excitement in anticipation of our 2025 Sports Day. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow to share this wonderful community event with us. Please refer to SZapp for Sports Day details (scroll to date 29-May in your SZapp Feed).
