What a wonderful day we had at the St Therese School Sports Day on Thursday 5th June! We managed to celebrate sport in our centenary year by completing the full program of events for the first time in three years as the rain and wind held off!

Congratulations to our students who participated actively and with great enthusiasm leading up to and especially on the day. Terrific examples of good sportsmanship and team spirit was seen everywhere! I was most impressed with our sports leaders who consistently displayed positive leadership skills leading their houses throughout our preparation and on the day.

Our Whole School Health Hustle, to ‘Eye of the tiger’ was a fantastic way to warm up, ensuring all students were prepared for their events. All classes were taught by their house leaders. I'm sure you agree it was just terrific!

How much fun were the house cheers... the dedication seen on so many faces during the cheers was just priceless. They were creative and inspiring and really set the atmosphere for the day perfectly.

The Championship Races was another highlight. Well done to all runners! Whether you came 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th, your efforts are commendable.

Congratulations to St Thomas who won the St Therese School Sports Day Shield, by gaining the most event points, and to St Catherine who were the winners of the Spirit Cup gaining the most spirit points leading up to and on the big day. We continued with our token system, where students were awarded tokens for positive behaviour, good sportsmanship and demonstrating our school values, Respect, Grace, Community and Courage.

Congratulations to ALL teams, as overall, all the students were winners on the day.

I would like to finish by saying a huge thank you to the staff of St Therese for their incredible support leading up to Sports Day and on the day. Also, to our amazing volunteers who helped at the events, BBQ and Bake Sale, and the Sports College SA students. You all ensured the smooth running of the big event. Thank you once again!
