Celebrating Community

What a wonderful start to the term we have had at St Therese School! We started Catholic Education Week with our annual Mother’s Day celebration. This was a truly special event, filled with heartfelt moment of prayer, open classrooms, and the joyful presence of our school community. It was inspiring to se so many families come together to celebrate the incredible role of mother and caregivers in our lives. The opportunity for our families to visit classrooms and share in their children’s’ learning was a highlight, fostering a deeper connection between home and school. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the morning so memorable.

Winter sport has started, and it has been great to see the children practicing with their coaches on the hardcourt after school. We really appreciate the parent volunteers and remind all families that their child must have an adult to supervise them during training and at matches. We remind families to be mindful of the space around the hardcourt at school pick up time. Respecting this space helps ensure everyone’s safety and allows all families to exit the school gates smoothly.

2025 Sports Day

As communicated earlier this week, we have an important change of date in our school calendar. We have been informed that Mitcham Council plan to start the building works at Mortlock Oval in mid-June and cannot confirm an accurate completion date. To ensure our students can participate in our annual Sports Day we have moved this event forward to Thursday 5 June. We will communicate details of events on the day in the coming weeks. We appreciate your understanding as we work to provide the best experience for our students.

Staff Formation Day

On Friday 6 June, St Therese staff will participate in a religious and spiritual formation day. If you require care for your child on this day, please book them into OSHC via the Camp Australia portal as soon as possible. Please note that Monday 9 June is a public holiday and OSHC is not available that day.

As we enjoy the beautiful Autumn sunshine here, let us also keep our farmers in our prayers as they continue to endure drought conditions. Their hard work and dedication are vital to all of us, especially during these challenging times.

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in the St Therese community.

Warm regards,

Dee-anne Peters
